Hi
Linda, I adopted my 8 year old niece a year and a half ago. Things are
generally going ok. I live in London and work full time, she is my
sister's daughter. My sister has mental health problems and all her
four children have been fostered or adopted. My sister came to stay
recently and that went ok. I think it is good if a child can be adopted
within a family as they can learn about their family, grandparents, etc
and do not have problems "fitting in" to a new family as they are still
in their family of birth. My email is gemma.tighe@c-f.org.uk, please
feel free to email me. Gemma

| Emma,
seeing your query - you may like to look on the Public Bulletin
Board...this is accessibile from the home page, prior to you logging on
- look on the right hand column. When you get to the Public Bulletin
Page you will see there are a couple of other entries from people about
adoption relatives. Yours Lois |

| We're
in the process of adopting my cousin's child whom we've looked after
since she was a small baby. The process has taken a long while for
various reasons but we're nearly there. It would be good to hear from
others in a similar situation. |

| We would be interested to hear from anyone who has adopted a child of a relative, such as a brother, sister, neice or nephew. |
